REASONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING METHODS FOR OIL LEVEL INCREASE IN DIESEL GENERATOR SETS
1. THE REASONS FOR THE INCREASE IN OIL LEVEL IN DIESEL GENERATOR SETS ARE:1.1 FUEL LEAKAGE INTO THE ENGINE OIL PANDUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR OF THE PLUNGER PAIR OF THE GENERATOR FUEL INJECTION PUMP, LOOSE CLOSURE OF THE INJECTOR NEEDLE VALVE, OR STUCK NEEDLE VALVE IN THE OPEN POSITION; THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PISTON, PISTON RING, AND CYLINDER IS TOO LARGE, CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK DOWN THE CYLINDER WALL INTO THE OIL PAN. 1.2 WATER SEEPS INTO THE OIL BASIN OF THE GENERATOR SETTHE CYLINDER GASKET IS DAMAGED DUE TO IMPACT; CRACKS APPEAR ON THE CYLINDER WALL CONNECTED TO THE WATER JACKET; THE RUBBER SEALING RING BETWEEN THE WET CYLINDER LINER AND THE CYLINDER BLOCK IS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY OR DAMAGED.2. THE FAULTS CAUSED BY THE INCREASE IN OIL LEVEL IN DIESEL GENERATOR SETS INCLUDE:2.1 THE EXHAUST EMITS BLUE SMOKE.2.2 THE SOUND OF SPLASHING OIL IS LOUD.2.3 THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE RUNS WEAKLY.3. HANDLING METHOD:FIRST, PULL OUT THE OIL DIPSTICK TO CHECK IF THE OIL IS TOO THIN. IF THE OIL LEVEL IS FOUND TO BE HIGH AND VERY THIN, FURTHER INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE CONDUCTED TO SEE IF THERE IS WATER OR FUEL LEAKAGE THAT DILUTES THE OIL, CAUSING IT TO BECOME TOO THIN. THE INSPECTION METHOD IS AS FOLLOWS:3.1 PULL OUT THE OIL DIPSTICK, DROP A FEW DROPS OF OIL ON PAPER, OBSERVE THE COLOR OF THE OIL AND SMELL THE ODOR. IF THE OIL IS YELLOW AND HAS NO OTHER ODOR, IT INDICATES THAT WATER HAS ENTERED THE CRANKCASE. CHECK WHETHER THE CYLINDER GASKET IS DAMAGED, WHETHER THERE ARE CRACKS IN THE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER CHANNEL, AND WHETHER THE RUBBER SEAL RING BETWEEN THE WET CYLINDER LINER AND THE CYLINDER BLOCK IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY OR DAMAGED.3.2 IF THERE IS A SMELL OF FUEL IN THE ENGINE OIL, START THE ENGINE AND OBSERVE WHETHER IT IS RUNNING WELL. IF BLACK SMOKE IS EMITTED FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE AFTER STARTING THE DIESEL ENGINE, CHECK WHETHER THE NEEDLE VALVE OF THE FUEL INJECTOR IS CLOSED NORMALLY. IF THERE IS DRIPPING, IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED.3.3 IF THE ENGINE HAS INSUFFICIENT POWER AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE, THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP PLUNGER PAIR SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR DIESEL LEAKAGE (FOR GASOLINE ENGINES, THE PUMP SKIN OF THE GASOLINE PUMP SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR BREAKAGE), AND THE FIT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PISTON, PISTON RING, AND CYLINDER SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR EXCESSIVE CLEARANCE, AND REPLACED OR REPAIRED.AFTER THE ABOVE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE ARE COMPLETED, THE OLD ENGINE OIL MUST BE DRAINED, THE LUBRICATING OIL SYSTEM MUST BE CLEANED, AND THEN THE SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF SUITABLE BRAND NEW ENGINE OIL MUST BE ADDED AGAIN.3.5 WHEN THE DIESEL GENERATOR SET IS IN USE, THERE SHOULD BE DEDICATED GUARDS TO CONSTANTLY MONITOR VARIOUS CHANGES IN THE GENERATOR SET TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS.
